Boston is quickly becoming one of the most important US gateways from London.

From next summer American Airlines, British Airways, Delta and Virgin Atlantic will be joined by the already announced JetBlue, and now also United Airlines.  No date has been confirmed for the daily service but it is likely to be late spring.

United plans to operate its premium Boeing 767-300ER aircraft on the route, with 46 United Polaris Business Class and 22 United Premium Plus seats. The aircraft features the highest proportion of premium seats on any wide-body aircraft operated by a US carrier between London and the United States.

“We are thrilled to offer travellers a convenient, non-stop option between London and Boston with this addition to our global network,” said Patrick Quayle, United’s vice president of International Network and Alliances. “We will continue to monitor the demand recovery and travel restrictions as we finalise a start date for this service later in 2021.”

United has provided service to Heathrow for nearly 30 years and over the course of the pandemic, has maintained continuous service between London and the US. Looking ahead, Boston will be United’s 19th daily flight between Heathrow and the United States.

Boston plays host to the 77th IATA AGM on 27-29 June in Boston, which this year will be hosted by jetBlue.
