Wizz Air is to restart its Russian routes from Luton to Moscow and St Petersburg from 15 August it has been announced. However the country is not on the Foreign Office (FCO) list of quarantine exempt countries and territories.

Wizz is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a member of Airlines UK.

Prior to the pandemic outbreak the authorities in St Petersburg had relaxed the visa requirements to allow for an electronic free entry via the UK Embassy website and valid for a period of 30 days. With regard to Moscow there are visa registration centres operating in London, Manchester and Edinburgh with a service charge attached. The cruise ship rules were also relaxed.

Flights will operate twice a week to Moscow and once a week to St Petersburg.

The airline points out that passengers can purchase Wizz Flex with their flight tickets, to be able to alter their booking for ultimate flexibility. By doing so, they can cancel their flight up to three hours before departure without any fee and obtain 100% of the original fare immediately reimbursed in airline credit, as well as change dates and even routes an unlimited number of times.
