The British-Irish EXPO, ExCel London 5 October has been chosen by Loganair CEO Jonathan Hinkles to unveil plans for all-electric Scottish island air services “within the next two years”.

His keynote speech to the Regional and Business Airports group (RABA) will be supported by Cranfield’s Aviation University’s Professor Ian Gray who will talk about Project Fresson, the initiative led by Cranfield and Rolls-Royce, backed by a £9m government funding, to develop an electric Britten-Norman Islander for Loganair to use on Orkney Island routes.

Hinkles will also discuss Loganair’s airport partnership aspirations.

The two-day event centres on an exhibition featuring 150 airports, airlines and support organisations and a programme of talks and briefings on a variety of related subjects including airport counter terrorism, birdstrike and dealing with problems regarding winter operations.
