The latest Wizz Air offspring has been granted an Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and an Operating Licence by the Malta Civil Aviation Directorate.

Wizz Air Malta will commence operations on 27 September with the first flight from Rome Fiumicino International Airport (FCO) to Malta (MLA).   

Wizz Air recently appointed Diarmuid Ó Conghaile as the Managing Director of Wizz Air Malta, who will take up the position in Valetta from 1 November.

Other destinations are expected to include Budapest (BUD, Bucharest (OTP), Cluj-Napoca (CLJ), Katowice (KTW), Skopje (SKP) and Sofia (SOF).

The Wizz Air Group, listed on the London Stock Exchange, includes Wizz Air Hungary Wizz Air UK and Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, all with their own AOCs.
