London’s Mayfair Hotel was the venue for this year’s Frequent Traveller Awards last Thursday 22 September.  An annual event it is held to recognise the companies and teams that create, manage, and design inspiring loyalty programmes for all travellers.

It is the only travel loyalty focused event that brings together in a competitive style benefit forum the four core travel divisions of airline, hotel, cruise and rental car. The People’s Awards are selected by consumers who have voted online for the Best Elite Member Benefits, Best Customer Service, Best Earning & Redemption Ability and Best Affinity Credit Card.

Over 1.4 million travellers voted, making this the largest participation for the Frequent Traveller Awards ever.

When it came to airlines the winners included Delta (Americas) with its SkyMiles, Emirates (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and Skywards, and for Asia Pacific Qantas with its Frequent Flyer and Singapore Airlines for KrisFlyer.  Both Accor and Marriott Bonvoy took home awards in the hotel section.

Presented by The Wall Street Journal, with lead sponsors StatusMatch and Attached – Language Intelligence, keeping it all together was CBS Travel Editor, Peter Greenberg. “It has truly been a tough few years for the Loyalty industry", said Tommy Danielsen, the awards founder.

"As we come out of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are honoured to recognise the businesses who went above and beyond to relate to consumers. We look forward to continuing to recognise excellence and innovation in loyalty".
