The shortage of aircrew continues worldwide.

PLAY, the new Iceland budget airline, is advertising positions for 150 flight attendants and 55 pilots for the airline’s growth next summer. PLAY is welcoming applications from experienced as well as raw crew members and marks the largest hiring yet for the airline established in 2019.  All new crew members must be based in Iceland.

The plan falls in line with PLAY’s growth trajectory in the coming year, as the airline plans to operate ten aircraft next summer.

PLAY currently operates three Airbus A321neo and three Airbus A320neo.  It will take delivery of four new A320/321neo next winter, bringing the fleet to a total of ten aircraft in service from spring 2023.

Birgir Jónsson, CEO of PLAY, said: “This is the right time to begin hiring for our growth next summer.  I am truly excited to welcome new members to our team and we are proud to be able to provide all these new jobs”.

PLAY encourages all crew to bring their authentic selves to work and have already caught the attention of international travellers due to the crew’s comfortable and gender-neutral clothing, as well as the fact that all staff can show tattoos and piercings at work, and wear their hair whatever shade they choose.
