Whilst its name has not hit the National headlines as much as other carriers Wizz, a British registered airline, has at short notice cancelled a large number of flights at Doncaster Robin Hood Airport (DSA).

Wizz claims that the airport owner, Peel Group Plc, is not meeting contractual obligations.

“It is with deep regret that we have had to take the difficult but responsible decision to cancel a large number of Wizz Air flights to/from Doncaster Sheffield Airport from 10 June 2022. Passengers with bookings affected by this will be contacted via email today with advice on all their options, which include: rebooking, a full refund, or 120% of the original fare in airline credit”.

Local news media report that DSA said it was not aware Wizz Air would be cancelling dozens of flights until the airline's statement was reported.   BTN has not received a response to enquiries at publication time.

Affected flights include Alicante, Dalaman, Faro, Fuerteventura (winter schedule only), Gran Canaria (winter schedule only), Kosice (winter schedule only), Lanzarote, Larnaca, Lublin (winter schedule only), Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Riga (winter schedule only) and Tenerife.

Unaffected flights include Cluj, Gdansk, Katowice, Krakow, Otopeni, Poznan, Vilnius, Warsaw and Wroclaw.
