Boston will not be starting on the planned dates, JetBlue citing delays on the delivery of the Airbus A321LR used on the service.

The original plan was to launch on 19 July with one daily flight between Gatwick and Boston Logan Airport.

Heathrow was due to follow from 22 August.

This has now changed with Gatwick flights starting on 4 August and Heathrow 20 September.

The CAA has now published the airport figures for April which, with JetBlue being the only airline on the Gatwick – JFK routes, shows 6,554 customers using the service in April, and only slightly less in March, healthy load factors.  As a comparison 210, 926 flew to Kennedy on all airlines (and 62,107 to Newark).
