Last week British Airways (BA) ramped up its operations to the United States taking the number of destinations up to 26.

Portland, Oregon, became the newest destination on the BA network operating five times per week – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, the city’s only direct route to the UK.  Portland borders the Pacific Ocean with California south and Washington State to the north.

BA also relaunched Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to London, again the only carrier on the route, a year-round four-per-week service – Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.  Once called “The steel city” flight time is just over 7hrs from Heathrow and borders the State of New York.

This summer also marks the return of daily direct flights from San Jose, California, to London on 13 June; and the return of A380 aircraft to more North American airports. Chicago and Vancouver were the latest cities to welcome home the Airbus earlier this week. Meanwhile, Dallas Fort Worth is preparing to welcome the A380 for the first time on 1 July.
