Newcastle is Ryanair’s latest UK base, where it has stationed a pair of 189-seat Boeing 737-800s.

Ryanair is now Newcastle’s second-largest airline with almost 1.1m seats for sale, up by 50% over 2019, the first time it has exceeded the one million seat milestone.

Newcastle International Airport is sited on the A1, just 8 miles north of the Tyne and with its own Metro station.  It has 19 routes with a catchment area including the Scottish borders, to the west Carlisle and south as far as Durham.  Its only long-haul carrier is Emirates, who sponsor the control tower.

With Ryanair Newcastle ranks now 11th in terms of busy British airports.
