Are You Returning to the Travel Industry?

It has become very common for people to take career breaks: are you one of those returning to the industry after a time away?

Perhaps you have taken time out to travel, decided to try something different or perhaps you have been raising a family. Whatever the reason, at first sight a return might seem daunting but at Travel Uni we are here to reassure and to help you get back into the industry.

If you have been away for a year or so then not so much will have changed. And it should really not take too long before you are back into the flow. You can find some tips here on How to get the most from the Travel Uni Online Courses.

Three years or more and yes it is becoming more difficult given the travel industry moves at such a fast pace but follow these tips and you will be well on your way.

Once you are beyond 10 years then the biggest change you will notice is the profound impact of the internet and social media. However that is true of almost all (if not every) aspect of our lives and even if you are returning from a sabbatical on the International Space Station you will be familiar with Social Media and it will really be no stretch at all to use the different channels for business.

And as far as product knowledge is concerned, you probably remember more than you think you do and the key is to have confidence in your knowledge and abilities and to approach your return to travel in a methodical way. The Travel Uni courses are organised into categories so you can break down your learning accordingly.

Create a schedule for courses you want and believe you should take and complete one per day, one per week or whatever frequency is manageable and realistic for you.

Start with those destinations, products or types of holiday that interest you the most? Here you can have some quick wins. Find a course that excites you and dive straight in. You could even try the tests before reading the content just to see how much you remember. There is no restriction on the number of times you complete a course.

Continue then with those courses that will help you help your typical clients find the best holiday for them.

We wish you all the very best for your return to travel and for your travel industry career. Please do let us know what more we could be doing here at Travel Uni to support you and make sure you are registered for our courses here.
